Will an object be able to keep acelerating if there is no friction?

For instance, you are on a small asteroid, and you threw a baseball out into space. Now there are no other variables in space to interact with that baseball, would the baseball keep accelerating at a constant acceleration? What if the baseball was indestructible. Would it be able to travel then surp the speed of light?
