What is the name of the fictional anthology that has nicholas sparks in it too?

i know this is an older anthology because i read it when i was around 10 so i think. one of the scenes i remember is the nazi's were holding a hostage and interrogating her in a stone room underground i think. i would really appreciate it if someone knew what the name of this short story is. for some reason d-day and d-group pops into my mind as does nicholas sparks, but i can't find that any of his works were put into an anthology.
