How were the Europeans doing the same thing? Conquering people via warfare may easily be considered wrong, but?

Europeans did conquer via warefare, though much of their empire was obtained fairly peacefully. Europeans conquered for raw materials, trade and such like. Latterly they justified empire as bringing trade education and civilisation and some wars were fought to stop slavery - Britian Vs Arabs in East and Central Africa.
