Why does the bible describe humans as God's sheep, even though humans are more closely pack animals like....?

Because God and Jesus are like the Shepard, and the Shepard never leaves his flock behind. And we are like sheep in the way that we know so little of God's mysteries, and when we are lost in the worldly things, we need guidance to come back to the Truth and the Way.
